Dear friends! Today on Video Games with History, we’re excited to share both an exclusive and a brand-new format for our channel: a podcast interview with the developers of the upcoming video game In the Name of the Party!Mikhail (game design, code) and Evgeny (visual design).

Together with our guide Larisa, we delve deep into the multilayered Samosbor universe: navigating the endless corridors of the Gigahrushchyovka, deciphering the absurd laws of the Party, confronting the cults of Chernobog and the Betonovorot, and — above all — trying to survive the consequences of both the Samosbor event and Perestroika.

And along the way, we reflect on what a contemporary Russian anti-utopia might look like — one born out of fractured Soviet memory.

The result? Atmospheric, haunting, and thought-provoking. We put a lot of heart into this episode!
